Mugabe's family to inherit Zanu-PF properties

Zimbabwe's ruling Zanu-PF party will transfer ownership of the palatial home in which the late President Robert Mugabe lived in the capital, Harare, to his family, the state-owned Herald newspaper has quoted a party official as saying. The "clarification" by Zanu-PF's secretary for administration Obert Mpofu followed speculation that the party intended to turn Mugabe's Blue Roof mansion into a museum, and to derive an income from it, the newspaper reported. The party would also transfer ownership of a second home, occupied by Bona Mugabe-Chikore, the daughter of Mugabe and his widow Grace, to the family, the Herald quoted Mr Mpofu as saying. “Nothing has changed on the party’s commitment to transfer the two properties,” Mr Mpofu was quoted as saying. Mugabe family spokesman Leo Mugabe had recently confirmed that the ex-president, who ruled Zimbabwe for 37 years until he was ousted in 2017, did not own either the Blue Roof mansion or the Mount Pleasant house, t...

Kenya as the epicenter of rising Pan-Africanism

When Raila Odinga shook the hand of his longtime rival President Uhuru Kenyatta, a wave of speculation followed. The stream of partisan interpretations only grew when Odinga received the President’s appointment as the African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure and Development. What does it mean politically? What does it means for 2022? It is my conviction, however, that the conversation around the handshake and the appointment to the AU is all wrong. Both should be viewed through a different prism altogether: President Kenyatta’s vision of internal and inter-African unity. Uhuru’s bold vision An intense series of meetings with foreign leaders that he had held since the start of the year reminds us of President Kenyatta’s bold vision for Africa and his unwavering leadership towards it. “The more we meet, the more we interact, the better we integrate as a people”, Uhuru told his Rwandan counterpart President Kagame in Kigali last m...

Anas Sues Despite Group?

Investigative Journalist with Tiger Eye PI, Anas Aremeyaw Anas has filed a suit against the Despite Group of Companies together with two employees with its subsidiary, Okay FM for defamation. This comes barely two days after he sued the Multimedia Group Limited as well as three of its workers for the same reason. The plaintiff, sues per his lawful attorney, Listowell Yesu Bukarson and argues that the second and third defendants broadcasted and published and or caused to be broadcasted on Okay FM (a radio station belonging to the first defendant – Despite Group), defamatory comments against him and his associates during a discussion on investigative documentaries on their programme entitled Ade Akye Abia. The second defendant (Kwame Nkrumah) and third defendant (Kwame Amoh) are radio broadcasters and presenters at Okay FM especially on the above mentioned program. Anas is again among other things seeking damages including costs and lawyer fees. “Egro, the plaintiff claim...

GREED IS KILLING AFRICA

By: Uncle Ebo White In 1993, Margaret Thatcher’s wealth was put at £9.5 million or roughly $6 million. Kamuzu Banda’s wealth was estimated at $320 million, that is 53 times the wealth of Margaret Thatcher. In other words, Kamuzu Banda of poorest of the poor Malawi was worth 5,300 per cent more than Margaret Thatcher of first world UK. How do you explain that? How can you explain that? And remember that if you compared Kamuzu Banda’s wealth with that of Abacha, Kamuzu Banda is a mere pauper in comparison to Abacha’s wealth that was estimated in the billions of dollars. When Zambia’s Frederick Chiluba left office, he was put on trial for corruption and abuse of office. At the trial, it came out that on one trip abroad, Chiluba went on a shopping spree and came home with 11 trunks of personal items made up of 64 shoes; 206 designer suits; 185 shir...

Hail All Pan-Africanist, Shame All Anti-Pan-Africanists

I salute all Comrades who championed the emancipation of the Black African.🏾 True we wouldn't be where we are today if it were not for their love and sacrifice. Lives were lost lives were sacrificed, aggrieved with the exploitation, the marginalization, the manipulation they and their families and brothers were exposed to.  Our African ancestors took up the rifle and armoury and went out to oust this tyrannical system to set themselves free. The dream of freedom has materialized at last and we are grateful although there are a lot to work on during this generation.  We will always reflect to our past and wave goodbye to all the toil we were subjected to during the apartheid and colonial era. We work towards preserving as well as enriching our hard won liberty at long last. We do not afford to entertain unscrupulous, greedy i...

All Whites Are Racists?

Image
Are you 100% sure that every white is an enemy to the black race. Think about it soberly, there's no need to be angry because I found most Pan-Africanists very aggressive for justice. There are some whites out there who were not happy and aggrieved at all the extreme cruelty that were pepetrated by their ancestors and their fellow colleagues against our Black ancestors. As for Zimbabweans we know the Russians supported your ancestors a lot during the Liberation struggle. Now I repeat my question. Are all whites enemies?  Are we living in illusion or more so a delusion? We need to be vigilant and realistic brothers and sisters so we can emancipate ourselves from mental slavery. Our mindset as Africans was conditioned to believe in lies. But now most of us are awake, however the new spirit of consciousness gain by some Africans has been possessed by the ...

The Issue of Unemployment In Africa

Image
Africa has been facing the problem of unemployment for quite a long time now. There are a lot of factors that contributes to this. As conscious Africans, it's about time we rise up and identify our weakness and solve it. The following are some ways by which we can solve this. 1. Having more control of our resources would help create more jobs. 2. Quality education is key in harnessing our resources to create jobs . 3. It is important we create and patronize home grown financial institutions (i.e banks etc.) 4. It is important we setup private businesses to reduce over reliance on government employment. 5. We need to look at the rate of childbirth and regulate it for some time to cater for the huge backlog of the unemployed. Share your thoughts in the comments section
